Properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete incorporating rice husk ash: A review

Abstract Rice husk is considered as a waste product of farming. However, rice ash (RHA) has good pozzolanic activity, which can be used in cement-based materials supplementary cementitious material (SCM), and it also suitable for self-compacting concrete (SCC). This study reviews the physical chemical properties RHA RHA–SCC mixtures such fresh (crucial factors evaluation methods workability SCC), mechanical (compressive strength, splitting tensile flexural modulus elasticity), durability (water absorption sorptivity, acid resistance, chloride penetration electrical resistivity, alkali silica reaction).
